Rode the ferry gondola in Venice with Olivier. Since it was going against the current, the boat swayed heavily from side to side. Upon boarding, I saw a lady who looked like a local sit on the edge of the boat so I followed suit. I realized it was way too wobbly to stay seated like that, and another woman ended up offering me her seat on the bench next to an elderly lady, gesturing and saying "señora". Olivier and I laughed as he stayed standing, but ended up feeling dizzy even after reaching land.

Gondola
The gondola is a traditional, flat-bottomed Venetian rowing boat, well suited to the conditions of the Venetian Lagoon. For centuries gondolas were once the chief means of transportation and most common watercraft within Venice. In modern times the iconic boats still have a role in public transport in the city, serving as traghetti (ferries) over the Grand Canal. They are also used in special regattas (rowing races) held amongst gondoliers.
