Isla Gorgona National Park, off Colombia's Pacific coast in the Department of Cauca, spans 60,000 hectares including the island and surrounding marine areas, protecting diverse tropical ecosystems with primary rainforest, mangroves, and coral reefs. Established in 1984 as a former penal colony site, it hosts over 140 bird species, marine turtles, humpback whales during migration, and endemic reptiles, while offering opportunities for hiking, snorkeling, and scuba diving amid its rugged volcanic terrain.
