This goal was mentioned in the Feature List:
The Cyrillic alphabet is a writing system developed in the First Bulgarian Empire during the 9th century, primarily for the purpose of translating religious texts. Named after Saints Cyril and Methodius, who were missionaries credited with devising an earlier script, the Cyrillic alphabet was designed to accommodate the phonetic nuances of Slavic languages. Over time, it evolved and adapted to suit various languages, becoming the foundation for modern alphabets used in countries such as Russia, Bulgaria, Serbia, and others. Today, it remains a vital component of cultural identity and communication for millions of people across Eastern Europe and Asia.
