About this

Sacsayhuamán is a large stone fortress overlooking Cusco, built with massive polygonal blocks fitted so tightly that a knife blade cannot pass between them. During Inti Raymi, the annual Inca festival honoring the sun god, the site hosts a public reenactment of the original ceremony, including offerings, dances, and processions performed in traditional attire.
