My 50th STATE!! Yay! Trip booked for July with Lindblad/National Geographic!! I understand most (all?) of the large cruise ships aren't sailing this summer, so we took advantage of this rare opportunity to book this small-boat trip (100 passengers). Plus, as a small boat, it goes unique places, and we love the scientific/nature focus of this company (we did their Galapagos trip 10 years ago).
Visited Kenai Peninsula - Sterling, Homer, Whittier, Steward
Juneau Alaska 2014

Alaska, the largest state in the United States, is renowned for its vast wilderness and diverse ecosystems. Located in the far northwest of North America, it offers a unique blend of rugged natural beauty, from towering mountains and expansive forests to pristine waterways and abundant wildlife. With a rich cultural heritage that includes Indigenous communities and a history of Russian colonization, Alaska provides a distinctive backdrop for exploring both natural and human histories. Its remote location and challenging climate have shaped a way of life that is closely connected to the land and sea.
