I just finished Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern which is mostly set in London, but actually moves through quite a few countries.
Queen Charlotte
"Mary Poppins" by P.L. Travers
To Capture What We Cannot Keep by Beatrice Colin
The Master and Margarita
I chose a book set in India for this goal, spanning several decades. The book itself was not a five-star plot for me, but it was still perfect for this goal. The descriptions of fashion, food, plants, and scenery were all very lush and gorgeous, and there was a huge glossary of words. A very welcome transport especially during the tail end of winter.
Las grietas de Jara
Appel du pied, Risa Wataya
The Book Theif,

The Boy in Striped Pyjamas
The breadwinner trilogy
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
This book had been recommended to me by a few people, and I'd seen it lying on the bookshelf at work. Finally one day when work was slow, I picked it up. I'm so glad I did. It was an eye-opening and memorable read from start to finish, shocking in some places and poignantly funny in others. I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.
The Alchemist
