The Heaphy Track is a 78-kilometer hiking trail in Kahurangi National Park on New Zealand's South Island, typically completed in four to six days. It starts at Brown Hut near Golden Bay and ends at Kohaihai on the West Coast, crossing through native beech forests, alpine tussock fields, and coastal sections with views of the Tasman Sea. Hikers encounter varied terrain, including river crossings and steep ascents, and the track is managed by the Department of Conservation with huts and campsites available for overnight stays.
