I went for a walk at sunrise today. The east facing windows on all houses looked like they were on fire, and I got to see fiery streaks of oranges, yellows and hot pinks as the sun climbed higher. Suddenly I noticed that the entire world had turned peach as the snow reflected the sky, and as I looked up I saw that the sky to the north-west had a really weird, strong blue colour. After a few moments I realized it wasn't actually the sky but a blanket cloud - the clear sky along the edges was a pale baby blue,almost white - and shortly avter, ske clouds to the east took on a sickening yellow tint as the sun rose higher. It all looked pretty weird, actually, and I am glad I caugt the prettiness at the beginning of the show.
Not the best day for sunrises due to some cloud cover, but got some really cool views of the morning fog...
Technically... done... and not done. As in, I got up and experienced dawn on January 1st, but I also did not get much of a look at the sunrise.
Watched the sunrise on our first day in Iceland... Then watched the sunset on the same day! 💖

We stayed near the Charles Bridge in Prague and got there at 4:50am. It was already a bit lighter than I hoped, but the sun definitely hadn't risen yet, and did gradually within the next hour. It was gorgeous and we witnessed a wedding on the bridge - now that's dedication! I do think the winter fog depicted in the classical images of a Charles Bridge sunset would have added something but nevertheless, a goal ticked.
This would be lovely from Charles Bridge, Prague. I'll try to get up in time!

Watched the sunrise while I was leaving on the plane to go to California
I watched the sunrise this morning at the dawn service, but I figure I could do better. It was pouring rain so I had to watch through umbrellas and the sun itself was never visible, only coming up under the clouds. It continued to rise slightly as we walked back to the city. It just wasn't the best day for it.
