Puebla (formal name state “Estado Libre y Soberano de Puebla”) is a Mexican state located in the center-east of Mexico, just east of the Federal District of Mexico City. It has a roughly triangular shape, with the wide part to the south and borders Veracruz to the east, Hidalgo, Mexico State, Tlaxcala, and Morelos to the west, and Guerrero and Oaxaca to the south. The state's largest cities are the capital of Puebla and Tehuacan and contains 217 municipalities.
