Borrowed a telescope from a friend and checked out this Christmas' Full Cold Moon. Beautiful stuff.
Did an excellent night tour of Sydney Observatory. I got to look at Jupiter and Orion nebula through a state-of-the-art computer-controlled 40cm reflecting (mirror) telescope in the North Dome and at the Jewel Box and Jupiter again through the Equatorial Refracting telescope in the South Dome - the oldest working telescope in Australia. The old one is pictured. The tour also included a film on the scale of size in the universe, a time-lapse through a planetarium, and a laser-pointed look at the sky outside.
