I'm currently reading the His Dark Materials trilogy and just started The Golden Compass. I last read these books when I was 12 years old.

The Famous Five book, 'Five on a Treasure Island.'

Brought back so many memories. Probably read it when I was about 7 or 8. Yes, it IS childish, but it's suppose to be.

For the most part, the only things the five children in the book need to worry about are overeating from their elaborately prepared and copious feasts, having too much ginger beer, and not being reunited with their dog Timothy.

A welcome glimpse back to an innocent time, long before the reality of life hits you.
