Amacayacu National Park, located in the Amazonas department of southern Colombia along the Amazon River, spans about 295,000 hectares of lowland rainforest and protects diverse ecosystems including flooded forests, riverine habitats, and terra firme jungle. It features key attractions like the Canangüey community’s interpretation center showcasing indigenous Ticuna culture, alligator lake for wildlife observation, and habitats for species such as pink river dolphins, monkeys, birds, and over 500 fish varieties. Visitors can access the park via boat from Leticia, with trails for hiking and opportunities for guided ecotourism focused on biodiversity and conservation.
