Unexpected assistance in this goal has arrived in the form of Anya's language therapy. Since her sessions have shifted to in-person appointments, I now spend two hours each week in a waiting room. Working during this time is not feasible, as I have to keep one eye on Kai, but I can easily do that while reading a book. I have already finished one book this month. I haven't read a book without pictures in it in at least a year.
December: The Stone Diaries.
School starts and whoosh -- this one goes out the window. I am roughly 2/3 through The Stone Diaries, because it's been a rough weekend and I quit doing everything. Truth be told, I'd have finished it already if I enjoyed it more. But I'm just interested enough to slog through the rest. So now I only need to read three more books by the end of the year.
Which, you know, *could* happen.
