Northeast Greenland National Park spans 972,000 square kilometers in eastern Greenland, making it the world's largest national park and encompassing nearly half of the island's territory. Established in 1974, it protects untouched Arctic wilderness including vast ice caps, fjords, mountain ranges up to 3,700 meters, and coastal areas with glaciers calving into the Greenland Sea. The park supports polar bears, musk oxen, Arctic foxes, and migratory birds, with minimal human presence limited to research stations and occasional expeditions. Access is primarily by ship or aircraft from Scoresbysund, suitable for experienced adventurers pursuing bucket-list Arctic treks or wildlife observation.
