About this

Spiti Valley sits above 3,000 metres in the rain-shadow of the Himalayas, where the Spiti River cuts a narrow gorge between bare rock walls and scattered villages. Travelers reach the valley by the partly paved Kaza–Manali highway, which crosses several high passes and offers views of monasteries such as Tabo and Key that date back more than a thousand years. The short summer window, usually June to September, limits access and keeps visitor numbers low.
