Went to the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam! Saw a really interesting in-depth exhibit about Martin Wong, a queer artist who was based in San Francisco and New York. Also browsed a variety of European art in the rest of the collection, including a Mondrian, a Picasso, and a Matisse. Seeing a Pollock in person was really engaging because the textures were so visible.
Went to SFMOMA on the monthly free day for Bay Area residents! I'm glad I went toward the beginning (they're open 1-8 pm on Thursdays) because it got pretty crowded as the day went on. I discovered that I really like looking at sculpture, mixed media, and anything with texture to it. Obviously didn't touch anything, but it's still rewarding to look at those textural details up close.
I went to The Frick Collection in New York City (July 29th, 2022)
This museum was so interesting and actually made me fall in love with art.
There were moments when I just sat in front of paintings and thought about the art, life, and more...
I especially loved Jean Honore Fragonard: The progress of love - Reverie
