Somehow it takes actually visiting a new country to remember how much I enjoy it. I'm suddenly eager to learn Portuguese, and excited to read about the history and culture of Brazil. I've already purchased one new non-fiction book on the topic while on this trip, and I've made a good start on reading it. It's always nice when the goals on this list turn out to be things that I'm really happy to have done.

It seems pretty unlikely that I'll visit two more new countries before April, but maybe I can squeeze in a multi-country cruise in January or over spring break....Somehow it takes actually visiting a new country to remember how much I enjoy it.
