Started volunteering at the Mecklenburg County Animal Care and Control in the Kitten Nursery.

Today, 8/20/2016, I joined about 40 other single folks to volunteer at the Roadrunner Food Bank. In addition to moving a ton or so of butternut squash (discarding rotten ones) we bagged 1100 pounds of french fries into 3 lb bags. Never seen so many fries in my life.

Cat Haven is always so backed up with volunteers, I hope I can do this at all.. I'll have to find some other places too.

There are two places I'd like to volunteer where I live and that's the Central Alberta AIDS Network and the Central Alberta Women's Emergency Shelter. It's just finding the time...

Husband and I both volunteered for a Green Living fair in Brisbane. Although when I originally wrote this task, I was intending more regular volunteering, it is proving hard to get. I am still trying.

I volunteered to staff the UTK table at VLA- October 2011

Every Tuesday night I volunteer at St Thomas Primary School for the Mencap Gateway Sports Club as a helper. Basically, its a saturday night at the pub for adults with learning difficulties, who obviously cant do such. My role is to help them with anything they want! It can be football, basketball, curling, snooker, drawing, bowls, knitting - literally anything! I admit I've never done any care work or worked with such a group before but it is an amazing experience, I think I've become the one they high five when things go well! I would recommend this to anyone - give it a shot, its an incredible experience and looks great on the CV!
